AS previously state-dominated economies embrace the free market, international companies are lining up to extend their global reach. Switzerland's Holderbank can comfortably claim to be way ahead of the competition in this regard. With a market capitalisation of $4,922 million and a turnover of more than $7,604 million in 1994, Holderbank is the world's largest cement producer.
