The BRE has developed a tested a set of principles and standard procedures for collecting, analysing and reporting energy audit data, known as the Energy Assessment and Reporting Method. The driving force behind its development was the desire to have a simple, standardised set of rules and procedures which allow occupiers to understand the use of energy within their buildings in an accurate and consistent way, and which can be carried through to a variety of applications to ensure compatibility of results.
