UNALASKA/DUTCH HARBOR, Alaska, Sept. 20 /PRNewswire/ -- American President Lines (APL) officially opened its newly improved and expanded marine terminal at Dutch Harbor on Saturday, September 16. Attending the dockside ceremony were representatives of APL, Ounalashka Corporation, Mayor Kelty of Unalaska, customers and associates of APL.
Work began on the terminal expansion in September of 1994, when APL and the Ounalashka Corporation signed a 20-year lease extension agreement. APL's dock was extended from a length of 240 feet to 540 feet, and a post-Panamax crane was added for servicing larger containerships. In addition, the terminal was expanded from seven acres ...
