Sept. 22--Grimmway Farms -- America's carrot king -- is moving into the carrot juice market with construction of its own carrot juice concentrate plant.
Carrot juice concentrate will initially be shipped to Japan, with the domestic market to follow.
Japan already is a top foreign market for its baby peeled carrots, along with Germany and Singapore.
Grimmway Farms -- owned by brothers Rod and Bob Grimm -- has grown phenomenally. The company was the nation's No. 3 carrot producer as recently as 1990, but has since cornered a good chunk of the carrot market.
