Contract Expired on October 28; Union Membership Considering Proposal
OAKLAND, Oct. 29 /PRNewswire/ -- Kaiser Permanente's Northern California Region and its largest union, Local 250 of the Service Employees International Union, were unable to reach agreement on a new contract before the October 28 expiration of the old contract, Kaiser Permanente said today.
Kaiser Permanente presented its best and final offer on Saturday. The leadership of Local 250, which represents 13,000 of Kaiser Permanente's 30,000 employees in Northern California has recommended that its membership reject the offer.
