Loral Corp. [LOR] yesterday unveiled plans for a high-altitude endurance drone that would support ballistic and cruise missile defense operations by conducting early warning and communications relay missions initially and lethal missions later.
Loral's concept envisions a heavy-lift, long endurance unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) "truck" carrying sensor and weapons payloads weighing up to 10,000 pounds, with the ability to loiter at 80,000 feet.
