Recently published information from the Air-Conditioning and Refrigeration Institute (ARI), stated that "average SEERs rise in residential sector." ARI went on to say that 9 percent of purchases are 14 SEER, 3 percent are 15 SEER, 2 percent are 16 SEER, and 2 percent for beyond 17 SEER for a total of 16 percent for high-efficient products. Obviously this means that 84 percent of the homeowners purchased 13 SEER. These figures are up for 2007 compared to 2006 as more homeowners are looking beyond 13 SEER.
