Sporting an 11-game winning streak, perennial power Jamesville-DeWitt was awarded the No. 1 seed for the Section III Class A boys basketball tournament at Sunday's meeting of the Section III committee.
Coach Bob McKenney's Red Rams (18-2), who are fresh from earning first place in the Onondaga League Freedom American Conference, earned a first-round bye in the playoffs, which begin Tuesday in most classes.
Eight classes of playoffs will be held, including two split classes apiece in B, C and D classifications. Sectional finals will be March 2 at Manley Field House.
