President Clinton may not have a happy Halloween. Not only is he caught between Republicans and Democrats in the battle of the budget, but GOP leaders last week reopened hearings on two unwelcome hobgoblins--the Whitewater affair and the firing of the White House travel office staff. Clinton also faces growing criticism about White House consultant Dick Morris's shadowy role in past Republican campaigns.
Morris has ridiculed Clinton to his GOP clients, raising Democratic concerns about his loyalty, and he has advised several Republican campaigns that tried to exploit racial divisions and antigay sentiments. A Republican operative who has worked with Morris says the ...
