OAKLAND, Calif., Feb. 12 (AScribe Newswire) -- Chabot Space & Science Center today announced the opening of a new solar panel and solar exhibit funded by Pacific Gas and Electric Company's Solar Schools Program. The solar exhibit will open with a ribbon-cutting ceremony on Saturday, Feb. 16, 2008 at 11:30 am. Chabot becomes the first non-traditional school to receive a grant under the program.
Visitors to the 86,000 square-foot Center in the Oakland hills will experience a solar panel generating 1.3 kilowatts of electrical energy, enough to power one of Chabot's teaching laboratories. The panel, located in a wooded ...
