Adam's room looks like a toy store. There are several reasons for this. The first is that my 13-year-old son has an uncanny ability to find the toy department in just about any store, and he combines that ability with several successful tactics of persuasion. The second reason has to do with a long-standing belief that I could make up for Adam's developmental delays bY doing all the "right things.'
