The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) released its final risk assessment on the safety of meat and milk from cloned animals last month, concluding the food from cloned animals and their offspring is no different and as safe as food from conventionally-bred animals.

FDA had released a draft risk assessment in December 2006, stating that after reviewing some 400 studies, meat and milk from cloned animals posed no safety risks. Since then, the agency has reviewed an additional 300 studies.
