HAZLET TOWNSHIP--Oct. 24--Dressed in a navy blue pullover sweater, signing autographs on campaign hats and posing for pictures with well-wishers and their children, James Phillip Hoffa looked every bit the candidate for national office when he swung through here yesterday.
But Hoffa, son of the legendary -- some would say notorious -- labor leader Jimmy Hoffa, is no ordinary candidate.
"We need to get our union back," said Hoffa, a 54-year-old labor lawyer running for president of the International Brotherhood of Teamsters, the office his father held for almost a decade until he was jailed on corruption charges in 1967.
