New developments on Southeast Asian prehistory include the discovery of the Javanese fossils and stone tools in Thailand, Sabah and South Sulawesi which can shed light on early village life. The most significant developments in Southeast Asian archaeology also include the application of modern excavation techniques and methods of site analysis. Cross-disciplinary research between archaeologists and natural scientists also contribute significantly to the progress of Southeast Asian archaeology.
