THREE Carrick farmers have had grazing lands taken back by a large estate - after as little as a week's notice.
The land is part of Glenapp Estate Co Ltd, set up by Lord and Lady Inchcape, and managed by international property consultants Smiths Gore - who specialise in rural property.
The decision to take the land back is thought to have been made at a Glenapp Estate board meeting last year.
Cattle and sheep farmer Ronald Campbell, of Craig Albert Farm, Ballantrae, is understood to have lost a seasonal let of about 80 acres from the estate after more than 40 years.
