It's as nice a place for a stroll as you'll find in urban Southern California. Drive down busy Santa Monica Boulevard and you might not even notice it's there. But at 2 miles long, Beverly Gardens Park in Beverly Hills is very much there, and has been since 1906. Its shaded path pauses at historic fountains, passes by clouds of blooming roses, and meanders through cactus gardens. Here, traffic on the big, bruising thoroughfare that parallels the park isn't all that overwhelming. In fact, the two meld nicely, creating a classic boulevard in the grand European tradition.
