CLINTON - The town will move forward to secure $353,600 in state funding for the purchase of the $2.75 million, 62-acre Rauscher property. Selectmen voted 3-2 to sign a contract with the state for a Self-Help Grant Wednesday night.
"The grant ends June 30," Community and Economic Director Don Lowe told selectmen. Lowe said the town needs to purchase the Rauscher property before that date, which is the end of the fiscal year, in order to secure the funding. There are five more steps to acquire the money:
1: The town signs the contract for the $353,600 and sends it to the state.
