THE Liverpool teacher jailed in Sudan for calling a teddy bear Mohammed will be travelling again to teach in China in the next 48 hours, friends have said.
Gillian Gibbons, 54, from Aigburth, was spared flogging but sentenced to 15 days in custody after being convicted of insulting Islam.
She had allowed the children in her class to name the bear, but the choice of Mohammed was deemed sacrilegious to the Muslim prophet.
The incident led to armed gangs taking to the street of the Sudanese capital, Khartoum, calling for her execution, and a diplomatic stand-off between Britain and Sudan.
