My husband and I are homesteaders in the North East Kingdom, VT. We raise dairy goats, Rhode Island Reds, Indian Runner ducks, Rough Collies, Golden Retrievers, pigs, New Zealand White rabbits and bulls for beef. We are also about to try our hand at turkeys.
One of the things I wanted to write about was using Collies on the homestead. Collies live to herd and they love babies of any kind. We have had the Collies around all sorts of baby animals and they were so gentle with them, always herding with the utmost care.
