TOKYO, Feb 19 Asia Pulse - A research group from Hiroshima University has developed a new technology for use with offset printing that can yield pictures with the same high quality as silver halide photography, expressing fine gradations in shading without the striping and tortoise-shell patterning that often results.
Dubbed adaptive printing, the technology is software based so that it can be used with existing machinery for offset printing of digital pictures. With no special equipment required, the technology can be introduced at relatively low cost.
