The U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC) has made strides toward transformg the built environment to sustainability during its 14-year existence, from the launch of file Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Green Building Rating System in 2000 to presently having awarded more than 800 buildings LEED certification. USGBC is proud to add to that list of LEED-certified projects the organization's own headquarters, situated in the heart of Washington, D.C.
