Grande dame Isabella Stewart Gardner on Facebook? How about hosting her own blog or zooming a podcast into cyberspace?
If Boston's fabled patron of the arts were alive today chances are she'd be the first to applaud what's going on at the Fenway museum she opened more than a century ago. Maybe she'd even do a little online social networking herself to spread the word.
"Besides collecting art, supporting artists and musicians was a large part of (Gardner's) life," said Julie Crites, the museum's director of public programming. "We wanted to continue that connection."
And connect to new audiences more versed in iPods ...
