The woman, barely an adult herself, grabs her baby, slings it on her back, and calls for her other children, frantically gathering a few belongings from her hut in hopes of leaving before the attackers arrive. Barefoot, she walks for miles and miles, kids in tow. Days later, she settles somewhere the security seems better. She has no food, no shelter, no medicine, no proper sanitation, and likely no safe water. If she and her children are lucky, humanitarian agencies will reach her before disease and starvation begin to take lives.
