BELLEVUE -- Mercer Island's girls shot the lights out in Thursday's stunning upset of fourth-ranked Issaquah.
In Friday's KingCo 3A tournament championship game, however, the Islanders couldn't find the switch.
"I was hoping we'd have enough energy," Mercer Island coach Jamie Prescott said of her team's surprising appearance in the championship game. "It took so much energy to win that game (against Issaquah), I knew it was going to be tough."
And she was right. Bellevue (18-4) used a 21-13 second-quarter blitz to post a 53-33 victory and secure the conference's top seed to next week's Sea-King ...
