Puerto Rico-7 Inc. closed down its 11 remaining 7-Eleven stores, several weeks after losing its operating license, leaving more than 100 jobless, reports The San Juan Star (Jan. 31, 2008). The company had been hit with lawsuits for lack of payment to beverage and food distributors Ballester Hermanos Inc. (US$75,103) and Mendez & Co. (US$55,000).
