German universities win access to Nature archive
Universities, schools and other publicly funded research institutions in Germany are to get free access to the entire Nature archive dating back to 1869, writes Kim Thomas.
The agreement is being funded by the German Research Foundation A- Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) A- as part of its national licensing project. DFG has already funded similar deals with other publishers.
From May 2008, 2.5 million researchers and students across Germany will have online access more than 400,000 articles from over 6,500 issues in the Nature archive.
