Q. How important are chain drug stores to the success of hosiery products?

JIM MOZINGO, vice president of business development and market information, Kayser-Roth Inc. legwear division: "Legwear is important to the drug class of trade. It currently accounts for more than $350 million at retail. This level makes legwear a higher volume category than most health and beauty aids, personal care or cosmetics categories in drug stores. On an all-outlet basis the percentage that drug stores account for has declined from 15% to 11% of total legwear sales."
