Rs 4613 crore revenue surplus budget presented

Patna, Feb 25 (PTI) The Bihar government today presented a revenue surplus budget of Rs 4,613 crore in the assembly.

Deputy Chief Minister Sushil Kumar Modi, who also holds the finance portfolio, presented the 2008-09 budget in the absence of the opposition which had staged a walkout over the killing of Bhagalpur state RJD President Laxmikant Yadav.

After presenting the budget, Modi said the state, by additional resource mobilisation and rationalisation of taxes, had contained the fiscal deficit.
