Article: Private Label Expo: fashion hunt.(1995 fashion trade show)

NEW YORK - Many retailers from small specialty stores were among those who shopped the Private Label Expo here last week, getting ideas for new looks as they sought to beef up or start their own store brands.

While exhibitors offered plenty of T-shirts and sweat-shirts, it was fashion - from leather jackets to ornamented sweaters to silk suits for career - that caught the attention of buyers.

The three-day show, in its fifth edition, ended Wednesday at the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center. It had about 400 exhibitors, half of them foreign.

Final show tallies are expected to list some 11,000 buyers, about 10 percent of them from abroad, according to ...
