WHAT'S A MARINE BIOLOGIST?
Oceans cover 71 percent of Earth's surface and are home to countless plants and animals. A marine biologist studies marine species or the marine environment. Some study live animals while others focus on conservation or marine ecology.
WHAT DD MARINE BIOLOGISTS DO?
There is no such thing as a "typical" marine biologist. Some marine biologists study the life cycles of fish, whales, turtles, and other species to ensure they are not overfished or threatened with extinction. Others may monitor pollutants by studying marine plants that accumulate toxins.
