Qwest added 95,000 broadband subscribers in its fourth quarter 2007, fewer than the 165,000 it added in the fourth quarter 2006.
For the full year 2007, Qwest added 473,000 subscribers and at year-end had 2.6 million broadband subscribers, a 22% increase over 2006.
Qwest, like AT&T, is installing a fiber-to-the-node network that'll offer speeds up to 20 Mbps. It has targeted 20 markets for 2008 and expects its fiber network will pass 1.5 million homes by year-end. The company said it expects a high take up rate for the faster speeds.
