Technology group Business Connexion (BCX) has abandoned its bid for state-owned information technology company arivia.kom to focus on growing its core operations, which have come under pressure in the past six months.
State-owned transport utility Transnet put arivia.kom on sale to focus on its core business. BCX was one of about five companies shortlisted to buy the struggling parastatal.
BCX chief executive Benjamin Mophatlane said yesterday that the company faced "challenges". It made sense to pull out of arivia.kom to focus on improving earnings, and winning and retaining clients.
