Gophers senior forward Leslie Knight remembers wondering, as a freshman, how older players managed to play all 40 minutes some games.
"It's funny because I would think, `How in the heck do they do that?'-" Knight said. "Now, I'm used to it. If I'm sitting out for more than a couple of minutes, it feels weird."
Not that she has much choice. Razor-thin depth has caused the Gophers starters to log heavy minutes and forced coach Pam Borton to adjust her practice routine to try to keep her players fresh as the season approaches tournament time.
