A 28-year-old man from Graham, described by prosecutors as a "wannabe" gangster, has been sentenced to 15 years in federal prison after pleading guilty to trafficking in oxycodone, a prescription drug.
Myron Cosmo Curry, who was on pretrial release on charges that he had aided in a drive-by shooting, was arrested in March 2006 after buying what he believed to be 25,000 OxyContin pills, authorities said.
"The amount of Oxy was very significant in this case, and that's what drives the length of the sentence," said Emily Langlie, a spokeswoman for the U.S. Attorney's Office.
Curry was sentenced Friday.
