There's finally a spot in Cooperstown for a Mariners legend.
And what can you say about that but "My, Oh, My!"
Dave Niehaus, the voice and in many ways the face of the franchise, received the call Tuesday morning that many Northwest baseball fans felt was long overdue. He was named the 2008 winner of the Ford C. Frick Award for excellence in baseball broadcasting.
That means he'll be inducted into the broadcasting wing of baseball's Hall of Fame in Cooperstown, N.Y., on July 27 as part of Hall of Fame Weekend.
