Enhanced budgetary allocation for Culture Ministry
New Delhi, Feb 29 (PTI) The total allocation for the Culture Ministry got a considerable increase in the 2008-09 budget with the government earmarking Rs 1,025 crore for it.
The amount is an increase of Rs 95 crore as compared to the last budget.
However, the allocated fund for art and culture is less than last year. While Rs 309.41 crore has been allocated this time, it was Rs 337.50 crore in the 2007-08 budget, a decrease of Rs 28.09 crore.
While the institutions like Zonal Cultural Centres, Sangeet Natak Academi and Sahitya Akademi got marginal hike in the allocation this time, fund ...
