To the Editor:
I applaud Lorin Maazel and the New York Philharmonic for their inroads into American foreign policy with their historic concert in Pyongyang, North Korea (and WCNY for its broadcast). I hope/pray the Clintons, Obama, McCain, Walsh, Schumer, even G.W. Bush witnessed this saner approach to foreign policy, rather than the "macho-ization" policy popularized by our current leader.
We can militarily beat any nation. However, a sane policy, for the sake of our grandchildren and theirs, is to withdraw from Iraq and invest in clean water, health care and agriculture for the rest of the world.
We can apologize to Iraq for what we've done, and agree to ...
