OAK BROOK, Ill., Nov. 9 /PRNewswire/ -- McDonald's (NYSE: MCD), the world's largest foodservice organization, will open the doors of its first restaurant in South Africa on Saturday (November 11, 1995). South Africa will become the 86th country in the world which is home to McDonald's famous Golden Arches.
Thousands of people are expected to line the streets of Blackheath, in suburban Johannesburg, to greet Ronald McDonald as he leads a 500-person parade to the front door of the restaurant for grand opening ceremonies on Saturday morning.
