A student has a been invited to study at one of the UK's top schools.
Joe Murdy, deputy head boy at Whitburn School, has been offered a sixth-form scholarship to study at Eton College.
The 16-year-old Year 11 pupil is the third Whitburn pupil to have been offered a scholarship at the prestigious school, which can boast princes William and Harry as ex-pupils.
Joe said: "It was a surprise to get the scholarship. I didn't think I had much of a chance.
