GM GIFT TO IOWA STATE UNIVERSITY

AMES, Iowa, Nov. 13 /PRNewswire/ -- Emphasizing its commitment to engineering advancement in an atmosphere encouraging a diverse student body, General Motors (NYSE: GM) today announced a $60,000 grant to Iowa State University.

The contribution targets three areas at Iowa State:

* Construction of a high-tech classroom in the proposed Engineering

Teaching and Research Complex (ETRC).

* Support for engineering programs for minorities.

* Funding of engineering programs for women.
