The album of the year category touts one of the most diverse collection of nominees ever seen. While two of the albums have tallied a significant number of sales, there is neither a front-runner nor an album that can be counted out. The last four years have seen the award go to a country trio, a rock band, a deceased R&B legend and a rap duo. Here's this year's breakdown.
"Echoes, Silence, Patience & Grace"

Genre: Rock
U.S. sales: 600,000
