NEIL BARNETT fronted a Wellingborough & District AC clean sweep when he took top honours in the latest round of Bannatyne's Wellingborough multi-terrain series at Irchester Country Park.

He won the 5km race in 17.29 when finishing ahead of Richard Smith (17.48) with Bruce Lovell a further nine seconds adrift in third.

Also competing was the Kettering Town Harrier pair of Andrew Clawson (seventh in 19.06) and Paul Young (14th for 22.18).

Corby AC's Julie Lines ran well for ninth in the female section. She clocked 24.33 as Thames Valley Harrier Mel Newbery won in 18.34 from Olney's Juliette Minter (19.12).
