The competition between Walgreens and CVS Caremark, one based on their opposing views and definitions of chain drug retailing, is easily the most compelling industry story 2008 has to offer. Indeed, rarely in the annals of mass market retailing have two retailers at once so similar and so different focused so intently on each other.
