A TAXI driver needed hospital treatment after a reveller he picked up is alleged to have turned on him.
Two people believed to have been travelling in a passing taxi, who were dropped off in Cornwall Street, Hartlepool, could hold the key to the identity of the alleged attacker.
The driver was reportedly punched to the face, causing a cut to his lip and bruises, after he collected a passenger from Station Approach, off Church Street, Hartlepool, in the early hours of Saturday morning.
The taxi headed onto Huckelhoven Way, where police say the passenger became abusive and the car stopped.
