A 44-YEAR-OLD Portadown man is being held in custody in the United States after allegedly telling a flight attendant he had links with Osama bin Laden and was going to blow up the plane.
Aiden Mackle appeared in court in Bangor, Maine on Monday charged with assault and interfering with flight crew.
It is alleged he had been drinking on the flight from Atlanta to Dublin and told Delta Airlines staff that he was a terrorist and was going to hijack the plane.
The pilot was forced to divert the plane to Bangor where Mackle was arrested by FBI agents.
