A MUSEUM dedicated to 19th century Bamburgh heroine Grace Darling was officially opened on Tuesday following its [pounds sterling]1.5 million refurbishment.
The RNLI Grace Darling Museum has been open since December but the 'official' opening provided the opportunity for around 300 supporters, lifeboat crew, volunteers and local dignitaries to celebrate the project's completion.
After a service at St Aidan's Church, where Grace Darling is buried, the museum was declared officially open by RNLI chairman Sir Jock Slater.
