TODMORDEN'S police station will have to close to keep the public safe as culvert work continues.
Engineers working on the culvert at Patmos, Burnley Road, Todmorden have decided to close Todmorden Police Station and five out of the seven shops on the parade for up to two weeks as they complete the next stage of the demolition.
The police station will close on Monday, March 10 until the site has been made safe.
The decision has been taken on health and safety grounds following an incident last month when a section of the culvert collapsed into the river as it was being removed. The front of Kamran Newsagents was damaged in the incident, which ...
