BOGOTA, Colombia, Mar. 5, 2008 (IPS/GIN) -- Politicians and business leaders in Colombia collectively breathed a sigh of relief Wednesday as the Organization of American States began addressing the diplomatic crisis between Colombia and Ecuador.

The organization's permanent council approved a resolution stating that Bogot violated Ecuador's national sovereignty by attacking a Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia (FARC) camp Saturday in Ecuadorian territory.

However, it did not condemn the Colombian government for the military operation, as Ecuadorian Foreign Minister Mar a Isabel Salvador demanded on Tuesday.
