TWEED-makers Heather Mills has been sold by parent company Edinburgh Woollen Mill - but bosses haven't publicly confirmed the sale or the identity of the new owners, writes Bob Burgess.
When The Wee Paper contacted EWM's HQ at Langholm yesterday we were told no-one was available to talk about the deal.
The message was the same at the offices of Heather Mills. But the leader of Scottish Borders Council David Parker confirmed he had been told the sale had gone through last week.
And it seems likely that the workforce of around 100 will be retained by the mystery new owners.
