NORMANTON whistler Ben Thaler will be in charge of a Wakefield Wildcats match for the first time on Sunday when John Kear's men look to turn performances in to points against Hull KR.
Thaler, 26, has been unable to referee a competitive Wildcats match due to the 'home town ruling' which prevents Super Legue officials officiating their home town clubs.
But he'll follow Warrington referee Phil Bentham, who refereed the Wolves' clash with Catalans Dragons last week, in taking advantage of the new ruling which allows match officials to take charge of games involving their home town clubs.
And Thaler can't wait to take to the pitch on Sunday.
